ARE Alumnus '11 Biswo Poudel is the New Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) formulates and implements monetary policy and oversees foreign exchange rates and the country's foreign exchange reserves. The NRB is one of the principal owners of the Nepal Stock Exchange.  

ARE sends congratulations and best wishes to Biswo as he embarks on this next chapter of a notable career and as Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Gordon Rausser is Named the 2025 Distinguished Emeritus of the Year

Since retiring from ARE in 2019, Gordon has been extremely active in research and service, particularly to the University. This honor, which is awarded by the UC Berkeley Emerti Association, recognizes Gordon's many accomplishments and contributions since retiring. It is well deserved. Congratulations Gordon!
